The Pacific Animal Therapy Society was founded in 1988 by Sadey Guy, and operates as an active animal therapy program on southern Vancouver Island.

P.A.T.S. volunteers take their pets to visit at retirement homes, hospitals and other facilities where residents benefit from interaction with pets. All P.A.T.S. therapy pets are behaviour tested before they are accepted into the program.

Snookers

That’s one thirsty cat!

After a lengthy illness, Pixie, the tiny tabby with a big personality, passed away peacefully at home, on Saturday morning on July 11th, 2009.

She was quite the social butterfly, enjoying both human company and other cats, usually managing to be in the middle of all the activity.

Pixie is fondly remembered by all who knew her at Cat’s Cradle Animal Rescue.

Even though he’s very big, Rendell (the reddish one) is still very shy even after being with me  almost a year.

Rambo has a cheery demeanour and is affectionate and sociable.

They love mealtimes, chasing each other around, and looking out the window.

Therefore, you will need to decide whether you want a cat that is playful and energetic or if you want one that will curl up on your lap and let you pet it all night.

So, how many different cat personalities are there?

WHY NEUTER?

There are 21,000 reasons why you should get your cat neutered - because that’s potentially how many offspring could result from one un-neutered female cat and her descendants in just seven years!

There is a cat over-population crisis which results in too many healthy but unwanted cats and kittens being destroyed because there are not enough homes to go round. This sad fact is true also for dogs, and neutering is the only humane answer.

Neutering your cats, male or female, is the best and most humane way of reducing the stray cat population, helping lower the instances of F.I.V. and fight-injuries, and preventing healthy cats from being destroyed.

A plea to spay/neuter cats sung by… well… the cats !
